Rebecca Wilson
In May 2006, Rebecca Wilson brought her expertise from 14 years in book and art magazine publishing to the Saatchi Gallery, where she launched an online daily magazine for the gallery's expanding website. In 2007 she created New Sensations, a prize for art students which identifies and supports the most exciting emerging artists. The prize is run in the UK with Channel 4 and will be launch in North America in 2011. As well as working on Saatchi Online, she is Associate Director of the Saatchi Gallery in London. Prior to joining The Saatchi Gallery, Rebecca was editor of ArtReview, and before that deputy editor of Modern Painters.

  1. Some really intersting works Rebecca…although on the careful side perhaps. By this I mean that you seem to like works that are not “in your face” or direct statements.
    And love the Puetz razor piece which was also “art of the day” on the saatchi online facebook page.
    So..a direct question (I know you read these comments) :
    Who pics the art of the day/week here and on the facebook pages…there have been dozen of request to find out who the pickers are..but no answers from you all at saatchi…how about it? Full disclosure…or the usual “no comment” ?

      Good question Andrew. The thing is some days I want to know who picks and then others I don’t. From some of the comments the “pick of the day” gets I wouldn’t want to be the one responsible to pick. Perhaps it’s a collective in the Saatchi Office in LA that does the picking….
