Preview Of Saatchi Online Artists At Form 2008, London

SAATCHI ONLINE AT FORM 2008 28 FEBRUARY – 2 MARCH

Saatchi Online is staging an onsite exhibition at FORM 2008 dedicated to London-based artists who have loaded their work onto this free showcase for thousands of remarkable works of art. The artists in the exhibition have been chosen from Saatchi Online’s weekly Critic’s Choice, in which a well-known critic is invited to select his or her favourite 10 artists registered on Saatchi Online. These artists will be promoted and sold at FORM in a special Saatchi Online exhibition where you will be able to buy work directly from the artists on view, free of any commission. The prices of the works range from £300 to £3000.

KELLY GARDNER studied Fine Art at Bretton Hall, University of Leeds, gaining a First Class Honours Degree in 1998. In 2001 she completed an MA at The University of Central England in Birmingham.

Carla Busuttil, ‘I am the System’, 2007

CARLA BUSUTTIL was born in 1982 in South Africa and studied Fine Arts at the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg. She moved to London in 2005 and will complete a Postgraduate Diploma at the Royal Academy of Arts this year.

Mie Olise Kjaergaard, ‘Wolf’, 2008

MIE OLISE KJAERGAARD graduated from Central St Martin’s (Byam Shaw) in 2007. While finishing her MA, she was selected as one of the 4 finalists in the Saatchi Gallery and Channel 4′s graduate competition ’4 New Sensations’. This February she is showing her work at Alexia Goethe Gallery in London, and in July she will have her first solo show at the Barbara Davis Gallery in Houston, Texas.

WHITNEY MCVEIGH studied at the Edinburgh College of Art. She is represented by Being 3 Gallery in Beijing, where she will have a solo show in late 2008. In March she will be exhibiting at The Gallery in London, with Belgian photographer Pascal Demeester.

POPPY JONES graduated in 2007 from Falmouth College of Arts in Cornwall with a BA (Hons) in Fine Art. In November 2007 she won the prestigious Lynn Painter-Stainers Young Artist Award (£2,500).

Hugh Mendes

HUGH MENDES has an MA in Painting from the City and Guilds of London Art School. In 2007 he had a solo show at Sartorial Art, London, and his work was included in ‘The Future Can Wait’ at the Truman Brewery, London last October. His work will be in group shows this year at the Mark Moore Gallery, Los Angeles, and at the Changing Role Gallery in Rome. He will also have a major solo show at the Fishmarket Gallery, Northampton this year.

Julie Bennett

JULIE BENNETT is studying for a BA (Hons) in Fine Art at Chelsea College of Art, London. Her work has been exhibited in various group shows, including ‘The Painting Room’ at Transition Gallery, London this year and ‘Notting Heaven’ at the Sartorial Gallery, London in 2007. She was labelled one of Saatchi Online’s new stars by the Independent in November 2006.

Maurizio Anzeri, ‘Enduring Seconds’

MAURIZIO ANZERI graduated in 2005 from the Slade School of Fine Art, London with an MA in Fine Art (Sculpture). In 2006 he had a solo show at Galleria Palladio, Lugano, and his work was exhibited his work at ArteFiera, Bologna. The January 2008 edition of Flash Art selected Anzeri as one of the top 100 young emerging artists.

SARAH DOUGLAS graduated in 2005 from the Royal College of Art, London with an MA in Painting (Distinction). Her work was shortlisted for the 2007 Jerwood Drawing Prize, and this year her paintings have been shown in two group shows in London (‘The Painting Room’ at the Transition Gallery and ‘Tipping Point’ at Purdy Hicks.)

JIM COVERLEY graduated in 2001 from the Royal Academy Schools of Arts in London with a PGDip Fine Art (Sculpture), Distinction. In 2003 he was awarded the Sharjah International Biennial Prize. He had his first solo show in Paris in January 2008 at Schirman & de Beaucé Gallery, and in 2007 was in group shows at the Ashwin Street Gallery, London, and at the Royal Academy (with Kiki Smith).
