Jessica Kirkpatrick is a painter steeped in painting, its histories and techniques. Always working from observation, she brings her subjective musings into what she sees, deconstructing the real and juxtaposing it with abstract elements, flatness and dimensionality.
Jessica has an MFA from the Edinburgh College of Art in Scotland. She won the Open Eye Gallery Prize at Visual Arts Scotland Royal Scottish Academy, and was nominated for the Lynn Painter‐Stainer Prize in the UK. She has exhibited her work at the Royal Scottish Academy, Edinburgh, The Mall Galleries, London, the British School in Rome, and she will have a solo show in November 2013 at the Roswell Museum and Art Center in New Mexico.
