Lots of artists, throughout their careers have been remembered for either a particular series of work, a masterpiece or even an idea. However French artist, Yves Klein, was the first artist to ever brand a color. Yves Klein, many of whom associate with being a forerunner of several genres of art including Performance, Minimalism and Pop, came up with this idea of the color being the art. He created work with this color including sculptures, paintings, installations and most famously a performance in which he covered the naked bodies of women in International Klein Blue and applied the color to the canvas by dragging their bodies over them.
In spirit of such a bold, vibrant, cool color- we’ve selected our favorite blue pieces from our site to feature in this week’s collection “Out of the Blue”.

Covering bodies of naked women.
Oh yes artists will pull any stunt to get their hands on naked women.
