Little Tokyo Design Week: Future City (LTDW) celebrates the power and energy of cutting edge design and technology emerging from Japan and its intersection with current trends materializing in Los Angeles. Design’s ability to move us towards a more sustainable and creative urban lifestyle is at the heart of this four-day festival, which will be open to the public from July 14 – July 17.

The Dinosaur Hall
The Natural History Museum (Exposition Park)
The opening day of the Natural History Museum’s new Dinosaur Hall, featuring over 300 fossils and 20 complete dinosaurs and sea creatures. Highlights of the exhibit are the T.rex growth series, multi-media stations for “excavation,” never-before-seen footage, and more. Look a Triceratops in the eye, or walk under the neck of a 68-foot Mamenchisaurus that’s longer than a city bus. Reservations are required, and may be completed online.

LAXART Garden Party
The Home of Karyn Lovegrove
Celebrate LAXART at their Garden Party fundraiser and benefit auction. The day will feature a raffle for artworks donated by Edgar Arceneaux, Sarah Cain, Phil Chang, Paul Cherwick, Freeway Eyewear, Emilie Halpern, Glenn Kaino, Nicole Miller, Camilo Ontiveros, Eamon Ore-Giron, and Mateo Tannatt and a silent auction of artist-designed handbags by Lauren Merkin. Tickets begin at $100 and may be purchased online.
